Ntozake Shange “Oh she gotta head full of hair” can be seen as a discussion of the association between black women and their hair. By following Allegra’s actions and examining the imagery Shange uses, we see the value Allegra places on her hair, ultimately depicting a black woman who’s identity-past her appearance- is heavily rooted in her hair.
