BioChemical Sensing

Graphene based multiplexing sensors. 20 graphene FET’s are seperated into 4 wells (a). Each well has 5 sensors for redunancy and sensitivity with onchip passivation and gate (b).

Due to their large surface to volume ratio, 2D materials can form the basis for many different kinds of sensors. Our group is CVD graphene based electronic sensors for rapid, cheap, multiplexed detection of biological and chemical agents. So far we have achieved this for antibiotic resistant bacteria, a multi-decease biomarker in saliva, opiods in wastewater and are currently working on the detection of respritory infections. Optimal surfaces and rapid fabrication are enabled by our Cleanroom in a Glovebox. The work is in partnership with Giner Labs and GRIP Molecular
