
This semester, the doctoral students in Prof. Bers’ seminar FORM8840: Design of Formative Experiences deeply engaged in exploring the concept of formation and the role of design and innovation in shaping technology-rich formative experiences. As a culminating project, they designed interactive exhibits that respond to the questions:
What are the powerful ideas people need to encounter when visiting a space designed to provoke reflection on formation? How might we design such spaces?
Drawing inspiration from science museums, children’s museums, and art museums, students have created a “Museum of Formation” to invite others into this inquiry. We hosted our very own museum on Wednesday, April 30th in the DevTech Lab, and although the in-person museum is no longer accessible, each group made an online portfolio where the exhibits could live on digitally.
