Panopto Support
- How can I schedule lecture capture recordings for my course?
- BC has adopted an opt-in model for lecture capture recordings. Faculty members must complete a lecture capture request form to schedule recordings. Law Faculty Services may provide assistance if you need help with the form.
- Which classrooms have Panopto lecture-capture capabilities?
- All classrooms in the East Wing, Stuart Hall rooms: 315, 401, 402, 403, 409, 410, 411, and the Law Library room: 300.
- If you are not in a room with Panopto lecture capture equipment you may choose to use your own device to record a session using the browser-based Panopto Capture tool.
- How can I schedule a Panopto recording for my class?
- First, contact Faculty Services at lawfacultyservices@bc.edu to confirm room availability. Next, complete the lecture capture request form. This may take up to 24 hours to process, so plan ahead.
- What do I do if I need to record an event?
- For specialized recording capabilities, contact Newton MTS. In most cases, event recordings can be scheduled using the lecture capture request form. For any uncertainties, contact either Newton MTS or ATR for guidance.
- Are my recordings automatically available to students?
- No, recordings are hidden by default. You can update course folder permissions to make them available, or choose specific recordings to share.
- What if I change classrooms during the semester?
- Your recording schedule doesn’t auto-update. Always direct room change requests to Faculty Services first. Then ATR will be notified of the change so adjustments to the recording schedule can be made.
- Where can I learn more about other Panopto tasks?
- Some common tasks include sharing Panopto videos, editing recordings, and checking scheduled recordings. Specific instructions and resources will likely be available on the Ed Tech YouTube Channel or the BC CTE website.
