Biography:
Growing up in a dynamically developing city, Xiaofei was exposed to lots of changes. While adapting, he learned that something seems to remain constant in the world. The urge to know more about that “something” led him to a long and on-going study in the scientific field. In his junior year of his undergraduate studies, Xiaofei began to research and synthesize electrode materials for Li-batteries in Prof. Yang’s laboratory. He worked in the same lab and earned his M.S. degree, after which he decided to explore beyond his hometown for further education. On the other side of the planet, he joined Prof. T. Keith Hollis’ group and was awarded his Ph.D. in organometallic chemistry. Xiaofei was formerly working in Prof. Jeffery A. Byers’ laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher. Experienced in multiple sub-disciplines of chemistry, Xiaofei is most interested in types of chemistry that may benefit people’s daily lives. Currently, he is a Lecturer at Gonzaga University.
