Former Research:

The optimization of the cross-linking reaction of poly(lactic) acid and covalently bonded epoxide functionalities. The goal of this cross-linking is to improve the material properties of the polymer for specific applications.

Biography:

Alex majored in Chemistry at BC with the intent of pursuing graduate school in either Chemistry or Medicine. Raised in Chatham, New Jersey, Alex volunteers on his hometown’s emergency squad and also works as an EMT while home. At BC he is a member of Boston College EMS, a facility supervisor at the Plex, and dances with the group Full Swing. He joined the Byers group at the beginning of the spring semester, 2016.

Alex is currently enrolled at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
