The Early Childhood Maker Literacies Project (Grant#2342370) is a collaboration between the DevTech Research Group at Boston College, the Humanizing Engineering Research Lab at Boston College, and Prof. Kristin Searle at Utah State University, and it is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

The project, which will be implemented in the Boston area as well as Red Mesa, AZ , aims to develop and research the effectiveness of portable maker carts equipped with developmentally appropriate computational activities through participatory community-based design  These carts will foster computational thinking skills and cultivate interest in STEM. The design of the carts will combine hands-on making activities commonly found in early childhood classrooms with tangible computing and will introduce students to different types of jobs that require computing knowledge.
