Optimism: Hopefulness and confidence about the future or a successful outcome; expecting the best.
The quality of being optimistic sets children up for more resilient and enjoyable experiences in and out of the classroom. Belief that one can learn and grow is an important part in the learning process. If a child is optimistic when facing hard lessons, like conditionals in ScratchJr, or technology bugs, like an upside down motor on KIBO, they are more likely to persevere and grow from the challenge rather than give up.
