  4. Make sure everything you want your students to see is published
  5. Make sure your course is published

Next Steps:

Learn how to use Canvas

Canvas is the informational life raft for your course. It’s the home for all of your course information, learning materials, learning activities, assessments, and more. Learning how to update your Canvas site is quick and easy. If you are brand new to Canvas or simply need a refresher, you can use the resources below to learn more about the features Canvas has to offer.

Understand how to use assignments

One of the most common things you’ll do in Canvas aside from creating and uploading course content is to create assignments that allow your students to submit their work. You can use these resources to learn more about the assignment creation and grading process.

Configure your Panopto permissions

Law School courses are not scheduled for lecture capture by default. You can opt-in to lecture capture by completing the lecture capture request form here. This form also allows you to schedule recordings in lecture capture enabled rooms for non-course related events as well.

Throughout the semester you can publish individual recordings, or you can enable all recordings to be visible by default.

Before you publish

After you have started the process of adding material to your course’s Canvas site you can use this “Before You Publish” checklist to help you make sure your course is ready for the semester. It covers the most common things to address prior to publishing your site and making it available to your students.

To learn more about how to use other Canvas features you can view the in-depth documentation found here. If you would like to set up a consultation please email lawedtech@bc.edu.
