Our Scholarly Communications Department provides support in navigating the evolving systems of scholarly research and publishing. The topics we address include new publishing models, copyright, author rights and ID systems, assessment of quality and impact, open access to scholarship and data, and long-term access to Boston College’s scholarly output.

Among other things, Scholarly Communications help to support our Institutional Repository, and also helps support our Open Access E-journal publishing platform, Open Journal Systems. If you have questions about anything related, please be sure to let us know – and check back into this website for any updates.

The Scholarly Communications also works to bring favorable, sustainable deals with external publishers to students and scholars here at Boston College. We currently are participating in a number of Read and Publish deals which give Boston College students free access to a given set of a publisher’s online content, while also providing discounts on Article Processing Charges for authors who aspire to publish with the institution in question.
