I love the topic and exploration of how racecraft has been used to explain away inequities in responding to COVID-19 and other crises. I’d be interested to learn more about your methods, and what the different icons on the map mean. This would be helpful to understand how these inequities are mapped across Boston.
Hi Hannah! Thank you for the comment! Please scan the QR code on the poster or use the link – you will then be able to see what each icon indicates, and click on each icon to read a detailed writeup about each case, authored by my students. They independently find and research cases of environmental justice, injustice, and contention using journalistic databases, government datasets like the EPA’s brownfield/Superfund site list, and other sources they find to be credible.
Hope you enjoy exploring the map!
