Math Learning Lab

Boston College

Lynch School of Education and Human Development

The Boston College Math Learning Lab works to bridge the fields of cognitive science and education. Our mission is to find ways to improve the educational opportunities of all children, particularly those who are underserved. We use rigorous methods from cognitive science to study how children think, learn, and solve problems in mathematics. The labs’ research contributes to a better understanding of mathematical cognition and develops research-based instructional approaches for supporting math learning both in the classroom and at home.
