Joseph Nugent teaches different classes on Joyce and digital humanities at Boston College. They have ranged from conventional seminars on Ulysses, to those incorporating elements of virtual reality and podcasting into Ulysses.

Joseph Nugent also teaches courses on the Irish language, both for beginners and those at an intermediate level. By extension, he has also hosted chat circles to better practice Irish in person.
