Compañía Pilgrimage
When thinking back on this amazing experience this past summer, three particular days come to mind: Day 2 in Loyola, Day 5 in Montserrat, and Day 9 in Rome.
Day 9: Our mass in the Vatican was a very special moment. I remember sitting in the pew in front of the altar and asking myself and God, how did I get there? What did I do to deserve this? As our trip was coming to an end, our group decided to add a hymn to our special mass. We chose “Be not afraid,” written by a Jesuit. I found myself full of tears. I again wondered why I was so fortunate to have this opportunity. I thought of my dad who recently passed away. Although I never found my answer as to how I got there, I decided then I needed to continue with BC’s motto of being men and women for others. I would try to do more for others. I will give back. I will continue to work hard and do my best for not only those in the Boston College community but also for those in my extended community. I will be a woman for others.
