Compañía Pilgrimage

I sat quietly next to Tomeu on the bus as we started our ascent to Montserrat. 15 minutes later I couldn’t help but break my silence by asking Tomeu who was the artist who painted the great works that adorned the landscape. When Tomeu told me it was all nature, I knew I was on my way to the top of the mountain to experience something distinctly spectacular. My days at Montserrat were filled with awe, prayer, and gratitude praying the rosary, joining in the Vespers at the Basilica, and meeting with the monks. When we took the Aeri (Cable Car) down to Manresa, I stood still, looked up, saw a place so high up and asked: “Who in their right mind will live so high up in the mountain?” My fellow pilgrims graciously told me that was where we were for the past two nights. I went to the mountain top, and was still in a graceful daze when I returned to the bottom of the elevation.
