In the Footsteps of Leaders
What was apparent to me on the immersion was how St. Ignatius of Loyola laid his sword and dagger at the feet of the statue of Our Lady of Montserrat, indicative of his surrendering his life as a nobleman to become a pilgrim. During the immersion course, it seemed fitting for me to place my career before Mary in this same church. As I walked along the beautiful mountain paths, wondering what I was supposed to do next, I felt a sense of reassurance that no matter what I thought of myself or how little I had, I could give it as an offering to God, and it would be enough. Events may not turn out at all how I wanted, or dreamed, or planned, but in every circumstance, I could give what I had to God. He could bless it, and it would always be enough to accomplish his will for me at that moment.
