Compañía Pilgrimage
I had so many breathtaking experiences on the pilgrimage; the common thread throughout them was my cohort’s grace and kindness. Whether commiserating with Father Joe Appleyard as we hiked the final hill to Montserrat Monastery, coaxing our beloved Adaline Mirabel onto the tram, debating the merits of fish with Chris O’Brien, or simply walking shoulder-to-shoulder down tight alleys with what have become the dearest of friends, I have returned to this time in my life again and again, for sanctuary of thought and peace. In this pilgrimage, we saw the beauty and humanness of each other, a gift not always given to colleagues. I will be forever grateful for the time I spent shoulder-to-shoulder with my friends.
