Our first year in pictures…

Over one year in the making, we are now starting to see the results of our planning, construction, and experimental setup.

Jan.-Mar. 2019: lab construction in one of our two optics labs. Our overhanging tables for electronics are being mounted. Ductwork is being completely overhauled to obtain tighter temperature and humidity control.

Fall 2019: measurements underway. Students are at work on our cryogenic and room temperature NV confocal microscopes.

Data from our full-capability cryogenic (3.5 K) NV confocal microscope. (Left) Photoluminescence image of constellations of single NVs. (Top right) High resolution optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) of single NV. (Center right) Coherent Rabi control of single NV. (Bottom right) Resonant photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectroscopy of NV center excited state using a tunable laser.
