ITS Data Services Team has organized Boston College data into a domains and subdomain structure. Much like a table of contents for a book, this provides some context and serves as an aid to learning about University data. Domains and subdomains are hierarchical groupings of related information. As an example, Human Resources is a domain and Base Benefits is a subdomain living within that domain. University data is supported by over 800 applications and managed by hundreds of departments. The chatbot below will allow you to ask questions about the various data and learn about what data exists, who manages it, as well as details for how the data is used.
Some sample questions you might ask:
- How many data domains are there at Boston College?
- What are club sports?
- Who do I contact for questions on data supporting University Facilities?
- What type of budget data is used for financial planning?
