Description of Data Collection:
Learning outcomes are assessed through faculty evaluation of student performance on a comprehensive examination and course assignments, and through information on the annual exit survey of all graduating students.
Review Process:
Comprehensive exams are distributed across all faculty, who share in the process of evaluating student performance on the exam. In addition, the Master’s Advisory Committee (MAC), which comprises six full-time faculty and the Director of the Practicum Office, reviews student performance on these exams and their satisfaction with the program overall. Exit survey results are reviewed during faculty meetings with all department faculty.
Resulting Program Changes:
The most recent changes made to the C&I Master’s Program based on review of data from the comprehensive examination and the exit survey, as well as feedback from alumni collected via an alumni survey. Specifically, data indicated students wanted to be able to complete a “focus area” within the degree, comprising of 3-4 elective courses that, taken together, would allow for students to have a specialization in their field of choosing. The first focus area, Catholic Education, is currently being developed.
