Program Name: Spectrum Retreat
Description of Data Collection:
Students are sent an online survey after the retreat. We ask their overall impressions and experiences of the retreat and specific questions that measure their learning.
Review Process:
The GA for LGBTQ+ Student Outreach and Support Services sends a survey to students and collects responses via a google form annually after the retreat. The GA works with the Director of Student Outreach and Support to analyze and interpret the data.
Resulting Program Changes:
This year, we had to alter the retreat significantly due to COVID, and we utilized data from past surveys to prioritize the parts of the retreat that were clearly connected to supporting our learning outcomes. Prior to COVID, we received feedback regarding the learning outcome for faith/spirituality and have worked to provide more space for students to explore what faith means for students. We also specifically asked for feedback regarding our conversation about race and intersecting identities on the retreat and will incorporate that feedback for 2022. We ask for feedback throughout the retreat and then we also perform a survey after each retreat where we evaluate progress on learning outcomes.
