It’s formation through action: an experience of doing as becoming. At the Spiritual Hackathon, we will experience mindfulness, journaling, and singing as different forms of spiritual practices. Unlike solitary spiritual practices, a hackathon is inherently communal. It invites collaboration, dialogue, and co-creation. Participants will work in interdisciplinary teams to develop creative projects inspired by spiritual growth. Throughout the day, students will experience three different traditional spiritual practices. Oren Kaunfer will lead a musical “nigunim” session inspired by Jewish Hasidic music. Tomeu Estelrich will lead a practice grounded on Ignatius spirituality and Daniel Orlansky will lead a mindfulness practice. Students will come together for meals, receive a cool T-shirt, and participate in a research study. Projects will be documented and a team of high quality judges will give out prizes.

Check out an article about the Spring 2026 Spiritual Hackathon in BC News

What is a Spiritual Hackathon?
