Team SPARTA

The SPARTA team shares a common commitment to space weather issues and a specific interest in forecasting ionospheric irregularities. Collectively, they hold a diverse range of perspectives and motivations to achieve our goals. Specific skill sets were sought to achieve a strategic alliance of modelers, theorists, and observers to support progressive improvements to existing models through trial, validation, analysis, theory and machine learning.

Because space weather is by nature a global enterprise, external international representation was sought for guidance on space weather user products, operational environments, relevance and realism of solutions, and forecast needs. We have also engaged industry to foster high standards and inform requirements for critical commercial data sources, namely radio occultation (RO) measurements, successfully enlisting participation from all three major RO vendors.
