After the Suppression (1773) and the Restoration (1814) of the Society of Jesus, the tradition of writing these petitions continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p>Now available as an open access resource, the\u00a0<strong><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/indipetae.bc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Digital Indipetae Database<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0collects the indipetae of both the Old and the New Society. Users can\u00a0<a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/indipetae.bc.edu\/items\/search\" target=\"_blank\">search the letters<\/a>\u00a0by a number of facets \u2014 the full text, a sender\u2019s name or location, the date a letter was sent, the destination desired, and the names of saints quoted among the others.
