McCoog divides the book into five chapters, plus an introduction and a conclusion:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chapter 1: \u201cApostata Jesuits, Apostata Secular Priests\u201d: Ongoing Domestic Discontent, 1598\u20131600<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Chapter 2: Peace Unattained: 1598\u20131600<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Chapter 3: \u201cHavinge holines in there mouthes but wickedness in there heartes\u201d: English Jesuits on the Defensive, 1601\u20131602<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Chapter 4: Down but Not Out: English Jesuit Setbacks, 1601\u20131602<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Chapter 5: \u201cYour Redemption is at Hand\u201d: The Passing of the Old Regime<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The volume is the third installment of McCoog\u2019s history of the English Province of the Society of Jesus (the first volume appeared in 1996, on the years 1541\u20131588, and the second in 2012, on the years 1589\u20131597).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Institutum Historicum Societatis Iesu (IHSI) and Brill have collaborated to publish The Society of Jesus in Ireland, Scotland, and England, 1598\u20131606: \u201cLest Our Lamp be Entirely Extinguished\u201d by Thomas McCoog.
