Synthesis and characterization of bis(imino)-N-heterocyclic carbene complexes of iron for polymerization and catalysis.

Biography:

Despite being born and raised on the star filled streets of Los Angeles, after eight years on the east coast, Hilan has crumbled and admits Biggie is better. In 2008, he received his B. S. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he did undergraduate research with Professor Jeff Winkler studying [2+2] photocycloadditions and applications toward total synthesis. Now a proud resident of Boston, Hilan has traded in his Camaro for a bicycle and a subway pass. Hilan worked on iron-based catalysts for polymerization and catalysis, in addition to a few paintings on the side.
