FAQ

I am staying in on-campus housing. How do I check-in?

You will check in at the Welcome Center on the first floor of Stayer Hall on Boston College’s main campus. The address for Stayer Hall is 70 St Thomas More Rd, Boston, MA 02135. Directions, location, and a campus map can be found on this website

At check-in, you will receive your room assignment, keys, and a keycard, as well as other important information about your accommodations. Residence hall assignments will be in Vanderslice Hall. Check-in for housing begins on Saturday 30 July and check-out is Thursday morning 4 August.

The Welcome Center is open from 7:00AM-1:00AM daily. You can call +1-617-552-0086 to reach the front desk, and they will be able to assist with residence-hall-related issues.

How do I get to Boston College campus?

From the airport, the trip will take anywhere from 25-60 minutes, depending on the time of day, traffic, and mode of transportation.

Taxis from Boston Logan airport:

There is an official taxi stand at each terminal of the airport, where only legitimate and reliable taxis are allowed. Follow the TAXI signs once you leave the secure area to get to the taxi stand.

Price estimate: $50-70 USD

RideShare Apps:

Another good option is via Uber or Lyft rideshare apps. It is extremely easy to use these from the airport, and they are safe. The pick-up location has now been centralized, and while that makes it very easy to find, it is quite a far walk; follow the purple “Ride Share” signs, and do not order the car until you reach the central pick-up location.

If you are staying in on-campus housing, your initial drop-off location should be Stayer Hall on BC’s Campus in Chestnut Hill, MA. This is where you will check-in. The address for Stayer Hall is 70 Saint Thomas More Road, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467. Stayer Hall is right next to Saint Ignatius Loyola Church so it is very easy to find.

There is free WiFi at the airport so you can connect to order your ride.

Price estimate: $45-80 USD

Registration

The Registration and Information Desk will open at 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on July 30 at Robsham Theater. Here, you can pick-up your badge, conference program, and other materials.

Where will the sessions take place?

All plenary sessions will take place in the Robsham Theater. Concurrent sessions are about a
ten-minute walk from the theater in the new science building, 245 Beacon Street. Most meals
are at the Lower Dining Hall, which is right next to Vanderslice and Robsham. Bring comfortable
walking shoes. Vanderslice is air-conditioned, as are the venues where we will meet for our
sessions. You might wish to bring a sweater or a layer of clothing that you can easily add or
subtract, depending upon the air-conditioning.

COVID

Boston College requests that visitors who are coming for the various assemblies travel with a
COVID home test or two and administer the test shortly upon arrival. If you develop COVID
symptoms while on campus, please immediately alert Loïc Roche who will connect you to
University Health Services for further actions.

Should a participant develop COVID symptoms during her or his time on campus, then that
person should immediately mask and alert the University Health Services (UHS) so that a COVID test
can be provided. The number for UHS is +1-617-552-3225.
