Example #1:<\/strong> A child admits to a peer that she does not know how to run her program. <\/td><\/tr>
Example #2:<\/strong> Two children work together on a ScratchJr project, but only one child receives praise from the teacher at share time. The child receiving praise points out to the teacher that she worked with a partner and that they should both receive recognition. <\/td><\/tr>
Example #3:<\/strong> A child leaves her iPad out instead of returning it to the charging station. When she returns from recess and the teacher asks who it belongs to, she says it was hers and offers to return it to the charging rack. <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

Teacher Insights on Practicing Honesty<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following excerpts were taken from interviews with teachers who were asked to describe instances in which their students practiced honesty<\/span>, as well as times in which the teacher personally practiced<\/span> honesty<\/span> while implementing the Coding as Another Language-ScratchJr curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes they were honest with their peers about what was good and bad, like “I think you could make that better.”<\/p>\n\u2014 Elizabeth, First Grade Teacher<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

There’s a certain vulnerability when you’re not sure how to do something, and that honesty of looking over the shoulder of one of the kiddos and saying, “I’m not sure how to do what I see happening on your screen.
